Agnes E. Fryer, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 9, 2021 at the age of 98 in her home in Lakewood, Colorado.

Agnes is survived by her siblings Eunie Hodges and Graham Brotherton; her children Joy Gailus, Jewel Spaulding, and Wallie Fryer; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Woodrow J. Fryer, her siblings Jean Phillips and Walter Brotherton, and her son Woodrow (Woodie) Lee Fryer.

Agnes was born on May 10, 1923, in British Columbia, Canada to Walter and Lizzy Brotherton. She was always proud of her Canadian roots and her Scottish Heritage. She worked in her father’s jewelry store from an early age and desired to one day be a missionary. She met Woodrow while he was on shore from the Navy in Vancouver. They would be married on October 2, 1944. Agnes came to Colorado soon after the wedding, where she was a devoted member of her church and community, serving as a Sunday school teacher for several decades and was a strong supporter of missionaries and charitable organizations such as Shannon’s Hope.

She began a career investing in real estate that included ownership of multiple apartment buildings and other properties. She was known for always caring for her tenants and would often go above and beyond to help them. She had a passion for travel, visiting multiple countries across six continents. In her final years she enjoyed exploring Colorado by going on many car rides to mountains to pick wildflowers. She touched the hearts of all that knew her, and she will be deeply missed. The visitation is scheduled from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on June 25, 2021, and the funeral is scheduled for 10:00 am on June 26, 2021 with a reception to follow. Both services will be at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery.

Agnes' service will be livestreamed using the link below. Please note that the link will go live about ten minutes prior to her services beginning.

Testament of Agnes E. Fryer

I came to know the Lord as a very young child, soon after my parents had come to know the Lord. They had guests over and were singing around the piano "Calvary, dark Calvary, where Jesus shed His blood for me." In my minds eye flashed a picture from my Bible of Jesus on the cross. Suddenly the thought came to my mind - He did all that for me and I have never thanked Him so I slipped out of bed and down on my knees and thanked the Lord for all He had done for me and I wanted Him as my personal Savior. It wasn't a traumatic experience but I know that was the night I was born into God's Family. Over these 80 or so years since then, He has been, not only my Savior but my Lord, my Counselor and Guide, and my best Friend. I have learned to trust him in all areas of my life. This is the reason I want others to know Him. Agnes Fryer

Life Verse- "He must increase but I must decrease. John 3:30

Though I do not know the reason, I can trust, and so am blest; God is love and God is faithful, So in perfect peace, I rest.

My wife Karen and I are ecer grateful to our all caring God for.letting our lives mix withat of Mrs. Fryer (Agnes), Woodie and Wallie. They prayed for and supported the ministry in Bolivia for over 30. Much was accomplished and many lives.were.touched and helped and this continues still because.of her and their sacrifice, prayers and concern. We look forward to seeing Mrs. Fryer and Woodie again. God bless the Fryer family as they remain to honor God! Our deepest condolences to Wallie and the rest of.the family.

I worked for Agnes for 12 years in her Fryer Real Estate Company. She was a generous Christian in her dealings. She treated me and others fairly. She treated her family with love. I am sure God loves her
