Filimon Martinez

Filimon Martinez was born August 21, 1935 in Holman New Mexico and was 85 years old, he was the youngest of 7 children. He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Filimon served in the Army and served in 1958 - 1960, stationed in Taiwan.

Filimon met the love of his life Eleanor Vigil in Mora, New Mexico in February 1960 and then married on July 2, 1960. they were married for 60 years. Together they had 4 children, Victor, Valerie, Juan and James. Filimon and Eleanor eventually moved to Denver Colorado and settled down in 1972 where they continued to raised their four children.

Filimon retired from Rocky Flats Plant where he worked for about 27 years.

Filimon's hobbies were bow & arrow hunting, fishing, and he loved playing his guitar, singing and dancing. He also loved running and ran the Bolder Boulder several times.

Filimon is survived by his wife Eleanor Martinez, his children Victor (Noreen) Martinez, Valerie Gallegos, Juan (Patti) Martinez and James (Kathy) Martinez. His 10 grandchildren Monick, Jay, Kim, Sam, Katie, Michelle, Britne, Matthew, Amber, Jeffrey and Kenny, and his 12 great grandchildren Ysabella, Christina, Gabe, Sophia, Noah, Ashlee, Jaelynn, Tysson, Jaxxon, Autumn, Ashton and Ulises.

He is preceded in death by his father Benerito Martinez, his mother Seraida Griñe-Martinez, his brother's Conrad Valdez, Rey Valdez, Elias Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, and sister's Rebecca Martinez-Vasquez and Sinforosa Martinez.

Due to Covid restrictions, our current capacity for visitations and services are set at 75 people. If we reach capacity, we are unable to accommodate over 75 guests. Please reach out to the family if you wish to attend the service.

Mr Filimon Martinez what a wonderful individual him an his wife were parents of good friends.I met him an fell in love with him an his amazing welcoming heart an smile .Everytime we saw him he would try talking spanish to me but I didn't understand any thing .Filimon the legacy you left behind an you installed in your son's an daughter an grandchildren will live on in them your heart an your spirit .May you rest in peace dear friend .
