Teresita, known simply as "Tita" or "Auntie Tita" by her family and friends, was born on November 23, 1949 in the Philippines. After graduating from the University of the Philippines, she quickly became a staple of her local community. Through her modesty, constant kindness and generosity, Teresita couldn’t help but do the right thing and supported countless family members, friends and acquaintances who were in need of assistance, advice or a sounding board.
No matter the sacrifice, Teresita always put family first. Teresita emigrated to the United States, re-settled in Hillsborough, NJ and quietly picked up right where she left off. She provided tough love when needed, but knew that kindness was always more important. After working for many fulfilling years at AT&T in Bedminster, NJ, Teresita retired and relocated to Whiting, NJ, where she continued her commitment to Catholicism, enjoyed seeing her friends and family, and indulging in the occasional trip to AC.
Teresita will be missed by many but mostly by her loyal husband: Javier Hipolito, whom she navigated life with. "Ma!" will surely be missed by her dear sons and their wives: Ronald and Genina Hipolito, Abel and Sheila Hipolito, Beny and Stacie Hipolito. Teresita cherished her grandchildren as they made her smile every day, and she loved being called "Lola" by Ashley (19), Christina (17), Samantha (14), AJ (11), and "Wowa" by Sienna (2). Her loving sister Maria Tolentino and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Teresita enters into God's care and joins her parents: Rafael and Rosa Tolentino and her siblings: Rose Razon, Linda Bernardino, Rafael Tolentino, Jr. and Christina Tolentino.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, March 20 from 4pm to 7pm at Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 10:45 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting, NJ 08759 followed by a Committal Service for family at Whiting Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
