I was Mr. Sorrell's supervisor back in the late 70's. I was a young Msgt at the time and found myself in the hospital at Sheppard. I'll never forget that he came to see me and pray with me for my getting better. What a great Christian man.

Dear Mrs. Sorrell and Family, Memorial Day 2018
I am sorry to learn of Roy's passing. He was a substitute teacher at the Allred Prison Unit for the Windham School District for many years. I am a teacher there beginning in 2001. My name is Gary Sheets. He subbed for me for the few times that I was absent but he did sub for other teachers too.
When I would return, the students(offenders) would compliment how well that he helped them. I knew that he had worked at Sheppard Air Force Base. His excellent work as an instructor there helped him at our unit in teaching academic skills. I really liked and respected him. Your family's video tribute to him was very moving.
My Sunday School class has had 9 members pass away in the last year.
Some were military veterans also. Like Mr. Sorrell, they contributed a lot
to Wichita Falls and to their families.
Your family is in my prayers.
