I am so sorry to learn of Mrs Trarbach’s passing. She was my 2nd grade teacher at Kelly Elementary and I have many fond memories of her classroom. Whenever I would see her out and about in the years after being in her class she would smile and say hello. She came to my Eagle Scout Award Ceremony when I was 17 and gave me $2 bills as a gift. They were significant because they were reintroduced into circulation the year that I was in her class. I have often thought of her and wish I would have had the chance to visit with her again.

I always loved with A. Lila and U. Walter would visit.  They would bring big bags of lettuce and boxes of huge tomatoes, cucumbers and eqqplant.  A. Lila was the first woman I knew who worked outside of the home. She would wear awesome and colorful clothes and shoes. She had one pair of red, bright green and yellow shoes that were fascinating.  I had never seen shoes so pretty.  One time she brought this huge aqua leather purse full  of Avon perfume and makeup samples to give to me.  Just what a young girl would love to play with.  I smelled so good every day and my multicolored eyelids were quite the fashion statement.  One Christmas Eve they came and brought a box of puppies that needed bottle feeding. What a great night. One time we went "hunting" with U. Walter. Dave and I sat in the back of the Beetle car with Heinz sitting by (on) us.  It was a wild and memorable ride.  A. Lila would always have the best fresh picked fruit (sometimes frozen).  She sent cookies and fruit with me and a friend and took us to the bus when I was 12.  She also sent cookies and U. Walter took us to the airport when I was in my 30s. Did someone say she was a "food pusher"? U. Walter washed our car while we were gone,  saying he had used it to move some elephant dung from the zoo to his garden. Mine was an SUV so I was worried for just a little bit.  Of course he was kidding. A. Lila was such a great woman with a fun attitude, going along and laughing at the pranks and stories of her husband and sons.  She remembered every birthday and sent $2 bills to my kids on their birthdays.  They each have a little cache of "funny money" from her. She was so proud of her kids and grand kids and would show us their latest pictures when we visited and catch us up on their activities.  She would also display our school pictures which made us feel special.  So many memories.  My mom always told her "How did I get so lucky to have a sister-in-law like you?"  She was an awesome lady and will be missed!
