LuElla Marie Hamilton (aged 96) passed away in Lawrence, Kansas, on Thursday, March 15, 2018. LuElla was born on December 8, 1921, in Goessel, Kansas to Henry Peter and Susanna (Pankratz) Buller. She was the second oldest of seven siblings and remained close to her family throughout her life. In 1941, LuElla graduated from Bethel College, at that time it was uncommon for women to earn college degrees. She worked for a time as a teacher at Sugar Grove school, a one room school-house in Newton, Kansas and later as an administrative assistant to the Dean of the Business School at Wichita State University. After retiring from paid employment, she was active in the First United Methodist Church, was an avid watercolor painter, and made beautiful clothing. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lewis, their daughter, Nancy and her husband, Rick Ingram; granddaughters, Suzanna Jean Hamilton Ingram, and Gina Stevens. She was preceeded in death by her parents; and siblings, Melvern, Adela, and Elva. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m, Saturday, April 28th, at the First Evangelical Free Church in Wichita.
