She was born December 24, 1943 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Archie and Velma (Dickerson) McKee. She was a 1962 Graduate of Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson, KS. Marilyn married J.B. McCaskill, Jr. September 29, 1962 at Trinity Methodist Church in Hutchinson, KS. They had two sons from this union, Ronald Jay McCaskill in 1963 and Scott Alan McCaskill in 1968.
When Marilyn and Jay married, Marilyn was working in the Diet Kitchen at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hutchinson. After Ron was born, she became a stay-at-home mother until 1982 when she started working for the First National Bank in Mt. Hope. She worked for the bank for 30 years retiring in 2012. She really enjoyed her years at the bank and always enjoyed helping and serving others; it was a great fit for her personality.
Marilyn loved working outside; planting and caring for her flowers, washing the car, painting the house or just anything needed to keep her home looking nice. She took great pride in keeping things neat and clean - inside and out. She was a quiet, loving and private person who did not like conflict or making waves. She believed in God and the power of prayer, thanking God every day for her family and her many blessings. Marilyn loved her family very much and told them so regularly. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Ronald Jay McCaskill, Mt. Hope and Scott Alan McCaskill (Penny) of Louisburg, KS; one sister Patricia Fitzgerald of Independence, MO; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nelda Dow of Mt.
