Sam was a graduate of West Virginia University.
He was a member of the United States Marines during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and other sports in his youth. Sam worked for the Celanese Chemical Corporation for more than 30 years as a financial controller. He was an accomplished watercolorist, loved to play golf, and was known in the neighborhood for having the best lawn.
Sam is survived by his wife Beth Isaac, to whom he was married for 56 years; children, Ken Isaac, Kathy Isaac, Mark Isaac and his wife, Jackie and their daughter, Lauren Isaac.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2 at 4:30 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, with a reception to follow at the Villas at Five Forks Clubhouse.
