It is with great sadness that the family of Sandy K. Bullis announces her passing after more than three years of battling cancer on October 18, 2018. She was born on May 22, 1956 in Royal Oak, MI, and made her home in Williamsburg, VA.
Sandy retired after 28 years as a Federal Civilian Employee working for the United States Air Force. She graduated from Minot State University with a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Sandy was the most loving mother and wife as well as the most caring person who always put others before herself. She spent numerous years working for and supporting various Domestic Violence Centers, Lutheran Social Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates and local animal shelters.
A talented crafts person, Sandy hand-made beautiful masterpieces and started her own business - RSJDreamcrafters. She also had a passion for travelling in her motor home with family to see the beautiful sites across the United States and Canada. Sandy really enjoyed spending time kayaking with her husband and son in addition to raising their rescue dogs, Bailey & Willow. She also valued her time she spent with friends and family throughout her lifetime.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Steven Hrabcsak and Joyce Hrabcsak, and niece, Tommi Ann Waananen. She is lovingly remembered by many including her husband Roger K. Bullis, Jr.; son Jeremy A. Cole; sister Vicki Gugan (Jimi); sister-in-law Dawn Rivette (Mike); nieces Pamela Bain (Brian), Rebekah Rivette, and Hannah Rivette; nephews, Steve Gugan (Sonia) and Jason Rivette.
The family expresses their gratitude and special thanks to the entire staff of Williamsburg Virginia Oncology Associates and Duke Cancer Center for their years of loving care and support to Sandy.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service and Reception in memory of Sandy will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:000 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188.
