James Francis Fleser, 82 of Williamston, MI passed away Sunday August 25th at McClaren Hospital in Lansing with his loving family by his side. Jim was born in Lansing on February 15, 1937 to Francis and Ellen Fleser. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Diane (Booker) in 1958 and together they lovingly raised four children.
Jim worked 25 years for Consumers Power but enjoyed his life outside of work; pitching softball, playing golf, and bowling. He was an avid hunter, liked to fish, and loved watching college football and basketball on TV. Smart, quick-witted, strong and faithful, he loved his family and God. He was greatly loved by family and friends for his warmth, compassion, faith and wit. He could always be trusted to lighten the mood with his sense of humor.
He was a supportive, loyal, loving husband to wife, Diane, whom he called “Dianey” for over 60 years. He was a caring dad and proud provider to Teri (Ed) Chamberlain, Scott (Karen) Fleser, Julie (Tim) Penfield and Amy Lama. Jim was a devoted and proud grandpa to 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is fondly remembered by his sister, Nancy (Fleser) Ording and loved as “Uncle Jimmy” to many nephews and nieces.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gorsline Runciman on Tuesday, Augsut 27th from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm to celebrate and remember Jim. His spirit will be remembered in a Catholic Mass on Wednesday, August 28th at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11am. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service for visitation. The reverend Father Mark Rutherford will be officiating.
