Francis X. Distel, age 83, of Williamston, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Frank was born January 1, 1938 in Lansing, MI to Robert and Catherine (McGuire) Distel.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Steven, James and Joseph.

Frank graduated from Notre Dame University with a degree in Accounting. He then served two tours of duty in Vietnam achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during his 28 year career. Upon completion of his service, he was employed by Livingston County as the Personnel Director, retiring after 22 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years, Sandra "Sandie" L. Distel; daughters, Linda (Don) Dykstra, Heather (Steve) Schwarz; grandchildren, Benjamin LaRoche, Daniel LaRoche, Maximilian Schwarz, and Claire Schwarz; sister, Jane (Don) West; brother, Tom (Kathy) Distel; sister-in-law, Patricia Distel; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Williamston, MI 48895 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021 at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 1100 W. Grand River Ave., Okemos, MI 48864 with a visitation one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Program, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
