Ruth Vivian Hagland, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. Born January 10, 1929 in Ferndale, Michigan, Ruth lived a long, full life. Her main priority and love was taking care of her husband and family. She loved her extended family, also: anytime with family was a good time. She loved dancing, but her favorite was ballroom dancing with her husband. They received many trophies. She liked helping people. One way was through homeopathic healing, and another was simply to listen to a person with her heart, and focusing on them and not what she was going to say.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Carlson.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Charles Hagland; her children, David (Carolyn) Tuttle, Jeanette Hagland, and Scott Sowers; her eight grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 10:30am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St., in Williamston. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s honor to the Salvation Army.
