Reva Zlotnik Sherman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully on Oct. 3rd in Tucson, AZ. Born in Chicago on Aug. 24, 1926, she was the youngest of six children of Russian immigrants, Dora and Harry Zlotnik. She was married to Gerald M. Sherman on June 11, 1947, her death ending a loving marriage of 65 years. Reva graduated from Chicago's Von Steuben High School in 1944 and received a bachelors degree from Chicago's Roosevelt University, while raising her five children: Harriet (partner, Ernie Dunn) Moser of Phoenix, Ira (Nancy) of Denver, Hess (Sharon) of Chicago, Annette (Bob) Landry of Albuquerque and Neal of Los Angeles. She and Gerry also have seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many adoring nieces and nephews. Reva was a generous, intelligent woman who gave selflessly to her family and community. Her special passion for over 57 years was being a Girl Scout troop leader and mentor to new scout leaders. Reva was an active member in the Jewish community and contributor to many charitable organizations. She loved dancing and the outdoors, becoming a docent at the Arizona Sonora Museum and Sabino Canyon after relocating to Tucson in the early 1980s. She will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held at Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, IL at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9th. Burial is at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, IL immediately following.
