Thomas Delon Best Sr.

Thomas Delon Best Sr., 78, of Surf City, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Mr. Best was born in Columbus County, on Feb. 11, 1935, to the late Lacey and Rena Gore Best. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Thomas also served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dale; son, Thomas Best Jr. and wife Hester; daughter, Dale Best; sisters, Rosa and Jeannie; grandchildren, Samantha Best, Courtney Campbell, and Tristan King; and great-grandson, Ty King.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Mr. Zander Guy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
