Vivian R. Wilson

Mrs. Wilson passed on December 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Vivian was born July 28, 1933 and was native to Wilmington. Her parents were the late Princess Catherine Brown Roberts and Alfonzo Lee Roberts. She was the oldest of five sisters. Two of her sisters, Esther Savage Swinson and Dorothy Cartrette preceded her in death. Vivian is survived by her sisters Louise Sarvis and Martha Biggs.

After graduating from New Hanover High School Vivian met the love of her life, Lewis Robert Wilson. They married in Dillion, SC and remained devoted to each other for 67 years. She is survived by her husband Lewis, their three children Linda Grimes (Jack), Robert Wilson (Nancy), Dana Lawson (Steve), six grandchildren Katie, Carson, Patrick, Daniel, Tyler, Hunter and six great-grandchildren Jackson, Ware, Charlotte, Laurie, Emme and Will.

Mrs. Wilson graduated from Wake Technical College to became a Registered Nurse. She cared for many during her service at Rex Hospital and at the American Red Cross. Vivian was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and attended Wesley Methodist Church.

Vivian enjoyed family gatherings, especially those that included her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “Tutu”. She loved travelling and being near the ocean. Her favorite pastime was taking a daily ride with her husband to Fort Fisher to see the water.
