Mr. Easters was an entrepreneur and a State Farm Insurance agent in Stone Mountain, Georgia for 27 years. After retirement, he moved to Crawfordville, Georgia where he served as mayor and was the owner and auctioneer at ABC auction. Many people know him best for being a founding member and emcee of the Sunny South Quartet. He used his beautiful baritone voice to share his faith with people throughout the southeast for many years.
Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Easters knew how much he loved his family. He never missed the opportunity to talk about his loving wife or share his pride for his children. He was also blessed to have many dear friends who became as close as family. All who knew him will remember his dedication to those he loved, his generous spirit, and his keen sense of humor.
Mr. Easters is preceded in death by his parents; Acie Mannie Easters and Wealthie Stribling Easters; sons, Daryl Dean and Marc Easters, daughter, Jan Cumber; brothers, Easton, Earnest, and Dewey Easters; and sisters, Kathleen Hill and Beatrice Hill.
Mr. Easters is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years; Ruth Steele Easters of Statham; daughters, Lisa (Brian) Stewart of Thornton, Pennsylvania, Kathy (Darien) Coots of Statham, and Gail Nickerson of Geneva, Florida; sister, Alma Jean (Jim) Elliot of Crawfordville; grandchildren, Kailyn Grace Coots, Cyrus Lane Stewart, Evan Heith Stewart, Chuck Cumber, Sonya Spragis, Barbara Jo Pugh, and Melanie Ginn; nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren also survive.
A private funeral service will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
