Christena Nynette Allen (nee Nicholson): Born Nov. 10, 1928 in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia Died May 2, 2020 in Windsor, Ontario after battling Covid-19.

Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Kenneth S. Allen (1992) and sons, Kenny (2005) and Kenneth N. (1955). Survived by son John (Gloria), daughter Tena (Steve Hearfield), grandsons Robert (Stephanie) and Jason (Vida) and great grandchildren Dyson, Juliet and Austin.

Christena was the eldest of 17 children to the late Archie and Mary Ann Nicholson. Pre-deceased by sister Margaret (the late Lorne) MacLean and brothers Jack (Gloria), Shelby, Melrose (the late Lois), Cavell (Chrissie), Angus (Rose) and William Kenneth. She is survived by her sisters: Florence (the late Bill) Ellis, Ann (Fred) Burt, Sandra (Ralph) McKeigan, Lynn (Lorne) Tait and brothers: Donald (Connie), Gary (the late Alta), Theodore (Ethel), Richard (the late Charlene) and Daniel (Theresa).

Christena loved to visit with and entertain family and friends. She will be remembered as being determined, adventurous, caring, generous and loved to laugh and have fun. She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. She loved travelling, horses, dancing, figure skating, exercising, going for a drive in the country, marathon shopping with her daughter, ice cream and chocolate.

Special thanks to the dedicated staff at the Windsor Regional Hospital—St. Clair College Field Hospital for their attentive care to Christena in these most difficult times.

A Private Family Visitation and Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 with a Memorial/Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.
