Adeline "Addie" Jason
June 15, 1937 – December 29, 2019
Adeline (Addie) Jason (nee Popowich)
Peacefully following many lengthy illnesses, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Addie with family at her side. Addie passed away on Sunday December 29, 2019 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 82 years.
She will be sadly missed by sons Doug and Todd; and stepchildren Lloyd, Shoshana (Jack), Garry (Asha), and all the grand kids. In addition, Addie will be missed by many close family and friends as well as colleagues who met her over the years.
Addie was predeceased by her oldest son Derek and loving husband Lionel (Len) Weinberg. She is survived and will be profoundly missed by her sisters Mary Dunlop, Jean Trakalo, and Millie Smith.
Addie was an over the top devoted mother and wife who cared for all the kids no matter the situation. She and Len never let their children down, always there with a helping hand.
She was that best friend to everyone. You knew that talking to her, you would get honesty, compassion and understanding with no judgement. She worked in the legal field for so many years that many felt she could have been a lawyer in disguise. She was an expert in Corporate Law and at one time established a private college which encouraged young people to move into the legal arena. She was passionate about her clients’ needs working until a couple of weeks before her passing. Her life could be summed up by stating she loved Len, the kids, her extended family and her career in Law.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral service, and a private interment will take place at a later date.
The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many Doctors and Nurses that cared for Mom over the years. The family would like to ask everyone to consider organ donation as a gift of life. In Addie’s case it was a gift allowing her to have a full and productive life for many many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Centre Flavie-Laurent Inc. located at 450 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg or to a charity of your choice.
