Jerry was born in Forsyth County on September 2, 1950. After high school, he attended Western Carolina College before leaving to join the military. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service, he earned multiple medals for his service as a door gunner on search and rescue missions. This training came into use upon his return home. Jerry worked as an engineer for Stratford Tool and Die for over 40 years.
Jerry was a member of Old Time Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher for 30 years. Jerry showed God’s love throughout his life with patience, kindness, and love.
In his free time, he loved bowling, four-wheeling, riding on his motorcycle, and canoeing (in his younger days). However, his most beloved time was spent with his family. Jerry was a loving husband, a caring father, an adoring grandfather, a kind brother, and a loyal friend. Jerry will truly be missed.
