We are never prepared to lose a loved one, mothers least of all.

On April 6th, Jeanie Mayer, born in Baguio City, Philippines on February 27th, 1934 peacefully joined the ranks of angels in heaven with her loving husband and two sons by her side in her final moments. We are left with nothing but loving memories of “grandma”, as she so proudly introduced herself to everyone for the past 19 years. Lately our hugs were longer, our good-byes replaced with “I love you”-s, our calls were more frequent, and our bond was never stronger. You could say the world is a little less bright without her, but we would like to believe that every memory that makes us smile brings much needed joy to the world we live in today. We choose to celebrate her life; please join us, it would mean the world to her. A loving wife, nurturing mother, tender grandmother, stalwart family advocate and unwavering friend. In life she was truly amazing - now she is a legend.

Aunt Jeannie was my mother’s older sister. As a young child we visited many times with Uncle Bob, Mark and Brian. They made a special detour to visit my dad a short time before he passed away. We have not visited as often as we should, as is the case with so many families. Love was never lost and we will cling closer as the family heals.... 💔

I met Jeanie in the early 80’s in Germany. We had some exciting fun at a Greek restaurant! I saw her only a few times over these many years, but our immediate connection always remained. She is a kind soul. She will be missed by all who met her.

She was such a beautiful, fun loving woman. She was proud of her boys and did an awesome job helping them to become men who care for others. She is smiling at all of you from heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
