BROOKSVILLE - Lucille Bilbrey Newbold, 85, went to be with the Lord on October 4th, 2018 in Brooksville, Florida.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Charles V. Newbold, and their children Phillip Newbold and Cherie (Greg) Gamble.
Lucille was born on July 12, 1933 in Winter Haven, Florida. She grew up in nearby Eagle Lake with her sister, Janice Barrow, and parents Otis and Maybell Bilbrey. After attending Winter Haven High School, Lucille worked at the local telephone company and as a beautician. After marrying in 1957, she joined her husband in ministry, then settled in Winter Haven and built two floral businesses, Havendale Garden Center in Winter Haven and Pollock's Florist in Orlando. Known as a strong businesswoman, she and husband Charles worked side by side, inseparably, for over 40 years.
Lucille enjoyed singing and participated in choirs at both Calvary Assembly of God and Victory Church. She enjoyed attending church and was a devout Christian of strong and unwavering faith. She gave of herself generously to her family and was a loving caregiver to her sister, mother-in-law, and father at the end of their lives. She was a get-it-done person and leaves us with an example of determination and unending love.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 10th at 11:00 am at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home at 645 W. Central Avenue in Winter Haven, Florida, 33880.
