Norma Gladys Wolcott
October 13, 1946 – February 7, 2021
Norma Wolcott went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 7, 2021 after a long battle with COPD. She was 74 years old. Norma was born in the Town of New Lisbon, New York, to her parents Norman and Zida Chase. Norma married the love of her life, Bruce, in October of 1966 and spent the next 54 years with him, mostly living in Richfield Springs, NY. Norma attended cosmetology school and ran her own beauty salon for years while their four daughters were younger. She was proud to be an EMT with the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department. She was very involved with the Richfield Springs Bible Church and the Toddsville Community Bible Chapel.
In retirement, Bruce and Norma moved to Winter Haven, FL where they enjoyed the lack of snow and cold they had been accustomed to in the Central New York snow belt. They made many new friends in the Hidden Cove West community and within the congregation of the Winter Haven Baptist Church.
Norma is preceded in death by her mother Zida, her father Norman, her sister Ann Marie Armstrong and her sister Eleanor Wightman. She is survived by her husband Bruce and their daughters Virginia Wilt (Marlin), Laurie Burleson, Brenda Sheldon (Robert) and Paula Andela (John). She was happy to be called Grandma Norma by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Bea, Bessie and Connie as well as her brother Cappy.
A memorial service will be held on 2-12-21. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family is asking that donations be made to: Project Love of Eloise, 960 Snively Ave, Winter Haven, FL 33880. This was an organization that was near and dear to Norma’s heart.
