Aunt Sara, I was grateful to share the last few moments with Uncle Tom and you, I will cherish them forever. Uncle Tom was always fair, happy, and a honorable man . He treated everyone he meet with respect. Jim and I enjoyed the times we had together. Uncle Tom will always be loved and we had the privilege to know him and call him our Uncle.
Love always, Jim and Cindy

Sara Lee, my heart is heavy as I have just learned of Tom's passing. Thank you for finding me. I have so many wonderful memories, with Tom in class with Jim and I and all those many gatherings. I will cherish them always. There is a wonderful reunion on the other side. I send you much love as you adjust to life without him

My 37 years teaching at Cheney Elementary were made better as a result of Tom Berkner's leadership as a principal for many of those years.

He was kind, trustworthy, and demonstrated leadership that allowed and encouraged us to utilize our unique talents, while supporting us fully. A testament to his legacy is the fact that he built and nourished a strong team of teachers and staff. Evidence of that shows in that we continue to meet for lunch monthly, and have since the early 1990s. And I retired around around 1985!

Mr. B., as we liked to call Tom will be missed by all of us. My condolences go out to Sara Lee and Tom's family for their loss. He was a fine man and I am honored to have worked with him.
