Andrew was born in the Candiac district in 1928. He and Nellie farmed with Andrew’s parents prior to moving south of Montmartre in 1952. Combining, making summerfallow, and hauling grain and cattle to market was a labour of love. Andrew and Nellie operated a mixed farm until retiring to Montmartre in 1990 and selling their last quarter of land to Peter and Janet in 2001. Andrew was dedicated to his faith, serving the Saint Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and as a member on the Knight’s of Columbus. Family and friends were very important to Andrew. He enjoyed travelling, playing cards, and visiting with everyone.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Montmartre Integrated Health Care Centre for the loving care they gave Andrew over his years spent there. If friends so desire, contributions in memoriam to the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cemetery Fund, Box 306, Montmartre, SK S0G 3M0 would be appreciated.
