Joseph George Obey passed away suddenly at home on Pasqua First Nation, Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the age of 52. Joe passed away of natural causes, not the covid-19 virus. He was born August 1, 1967.

Joe was predeceased by his parents; John David and Pearl Obey; siblings: Sylvia, Tina, Conrad, Marsha, Gordon and Patricia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Laurie Obey; children: Joseph Jr. (Kara), Michael, Adam, Alicia, Tristan (Brittany); grandchildren he was raising: Ryder, Kadience and Dorian; siblings: Brenda, Anita (Brent), Myrna (Floyd), Denise and Lee (Annie); special nephews: David, Terry and Matthew; as well as many other relatives too numerous to mention.

Joe loved life and faced his illness with courage and dignity to the end. He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed working on vehicles, he was a long distance runner and we have many cherished memories from when he played goal and was active in other sports. He enjoyed going to the Pow-Wows and loved the songs.
