Sonia was born October 12, 1932 in Britannia Beach, BC. She grew up in Flin Flon, MB with her parents Harry & Signe, and sister Carol. Spending summers at Baker’s Narrows and Lake Athapapuskow. She left home to work in Island Falls, SK for awhile before joining the fight against Tuberculosis. Sonia worked as a Nurses Aide at the Ninette Sanitorium in Ninette, MB then moved on to the sanitorium at Fort San near Fort Qu’Appelle SK. During that time she met the love of her life, Paul Pregizer. They married in Lipton, SK on January 6, 1962. Paul and Sonia farmed in the RM of Tullymet, welcoming a son Walter in 1963 and daughter Lisa in 1977. Later moving to Fort Qu’Appelle to retire. After both Paul and Wally’s passings years later, Sonia moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her daughter Lisa. The following year she received the prestigious promotion to Grandma (aka Kitty Grandma) when Logan was born in 2006 then Megan in 2011. She adored her grandchildren and lit up whenever she saw them.
Predeceased by husband Paul in 2002, son Walter in 2005, parents Harry and Signe Wennerlund, brothers in law Henry Pregizer and Ernest Pregizer; sisters in law Marga Pregizer and Marie Pregizer; and a nephew Dale Pregizer
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Pregizer Hein (Adam) and grandchildren Logan and Megan of Saskatoon SK; sister Carol Hurst (Duncan, BC), brother in law and sister in law Rudy & Edna Pregizer (Regina, SK); sister-in-law Gertie Schmidt (Regina, SK); brother-in-law Harold Pregizer (Lipton, SK) and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
