June 21, 1957 – March 24, 2020
It is with great sadness, that Sue's family announces her passing on March 24, 2020 at the age of 62 years.
She was predeceased by her best friend and husband Les Hubbs; father, Bill Small; father and mother-in-law Glenn and Jo Hubbs; sister-in-law Alice Hubbs; brothers-in-law Jim Stoneouse and Alvin Harbicht.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Laurie (Mike) Heisler; grandsons, Asher and Ezra; mother (Agnes Small); brother Ken (Grace) Small; sister Laura (Don) Spence; brother-in-law Al (Diane) Hubbs; sister-in-law Sharon (Randy) Blair; many nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family and friends who commonly referred to her as Mama Sue.
The bond she shared with her two grandsons Asher and Ezra was inseparable. They were the light of her life, giving her the strength and determination to keeping fighting the battle.
Sue put her heart and soul into everything she did; including being a caregiver to her husband for 25 years while raising their young daughter. Her strength, determination and love for everyone she met was second to none; always putting everyone’s needs before her own.
She was an avid gardener who took pride in her flowers, yard and heritage site which honored the family farm. She had an incredible knack for cooking and baking, especially her homemade buns which were cherished by many.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Dr. Bruce Zimmerman and all the staff at the Indian Head Union Hospital for being by her side and supporting the family through this difficult time.
In light of current events, the family has chosen to celebrate Sue’s life at a later date this year.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory can be made to the Indian Head and District Hospital Foundation, Box 1547, Indian Head, SK S0G 2K0.
