Edward J. McConnell (Bud) passed away at Cottage in the Meadow on December 2nd, 2018. He was born in Spalding, Nebraska to Adeline and Ellsworth McConnell on April 17th, 1924. Bud was in World War 2; he was attached to the 193rd Ambulance Detachment as an Ambulance Driver. Bud received the Victory Medal for his service. Part of Bud’s duties were to transport wounded soldiers to further care. He took part in the Normandy Operation and transported soldiers from the Battle of the Bulge to further care. Bud also served during the Korean Conflict as an Engineer attached to the 297th Engineer attached Aviation Battalion at Beale Airbase California, which was sent to Alaska in 1951. Besides being an Honorable Veteran, he was an avid Nascar fan. A few hobbies he loved to do were fishing at Klickitat with his dog Peppy 1 and Peppy 2. He also enjoyed camping with his brothers and sisters all over the state. He is preceded in death by his father Ellsworth McConnell, mother Adeline McConnell, sister Elaine Kinser, sister Isobel Schmidt, brother James McConnell, sister Rita Jamison, and sister Ramona Koreis. He is survived by his brother Richard McConnell (Carolyn), brother Marvin McConnell (Sharron), and a very special friend May Johnsen, and survived by many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, 1010 W. Yakima Avenue on Monday December 10th, 2018 at 10:00 AM, followed with a Graveside Service at Calvary Cemetery, 1405 S. 24th Avenue at 11:00 AM.
