Elma went to Yakima High School. She raised her children before going to college where she received her BA in early childhood development. She taught at Epic Headstart for several years before retiring. After retirement, she helped with the elderly at Our Country Home.
Elma was married to Melvin Neifert on November 7, 1952. They would have been married 71 years next month.
Elma is survived by her husband Melvin, her children; Clayton Neifert, Fred Neifert, Sue Schroyer, Raymond Neifert, Marvin Neifert and Laurie Neifert. She is also survived by brother Earl Pronto and sister Wilma Johnston. Elma had 10 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service for Elma will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
