Gabe passed peacefully in his sleep on August 21, 2017. He was born in Dallas, TX, on May 5, 1940, and grew up in Yakima’s West Valley surrounded by many cherished cousins. He graduated from Moler Barber School in Yakima and worked at his first shop of many in the Seattle area in the early 1960s. It was in Seattle that he met his wife of almost 25 years, Antonia, and trained her in hairstyling. They moved to Cle Elum in the early 1990s and opened a salon next to the Vogue Theater which they named Hair en Vogue. Gabe and Antonia later operated another salon called Uppercuts on East First Street in Cle Elum. Gabe loved outdoor recreation and he and Antonia were volunteers for Kittitas Search & Rescue for many years. He leaves behind his sons Gabriel C Morales, Andre Morales-Maguire, and a step-daughter Lindsey Harris, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Antonia, son Joseph Morales, and parents Lucy Velasquez and Gabriel R. Morales. There will be a celebration of life and potluck brunch for Gabe on Sunday, 9/10/17 at Cle Elum Eagles at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kittitas Search & Rescue.
