Stanley E. Bernath was 67 years old, and was born in Yakima to Stan and Mary. Stan died at home peacefully on April 9, 2019, after enduring several long years of kidney failure and autoimmune disease.

Stan grew up in Tieton and graduated from Highland High School. Stan married his high school sweetheart Janice in 1970. He received his AA degree in automotive repair at YVC. His first job was at White Front Shop, where Bill Addington taught him front end alignment that led to almost a 50 year career in this field of work. He took great pride in taking on the challenge and solving the most difficult problems. His customers satisfaction meant everything to him, many of which he considered as his good friends. His reputation traveled across the Northwest and customers would plan their travels with a stop at Stan’s shop for their repairs. Over the years he worked at several shops in Yakima and he retired from Frank’s Tire Factory in 2016. Before his retirement he had the great pleasure of training and mentoring Casey to take over his treasured customers.

He loved sports, participating and watching; he loved to play golf out at Suntides with his golfing buddies, Dan and Gordon. After he got sick he enjoyed reading mystery books that Bev and Bob and Ruth and Dave had a never ending supply of, which he was so grateful for.

His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren who he loved to tease and make laugh.

He is survived by his wife Janice of 49 years, son Matt (Andrea), daughters Melissa (Rich) Lamb and Michelle (Jeremy Haskins), grandchildren Kylee and Emilee Bernath and Ben and Sara Lamb, sister Ruth (Dave Monroe) Svinth, sister in law Gloria Bernath; sisters in law Bev (Bob Patton) Jensen, Debbie (Dennis) Buchert, Gay (Spud) Edmondson, and Marsha (Jerry) Robertson. He also had many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family that he loved.

Preceded in death by parents Stanley and Mary, brothers Bob, Dave, infant brother Ronnie and baby sister Mary Charlene.

I will miss and love you forever.

Visitation will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, 1010 W. Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA on Wednesday April 17th, 2019 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at Langevin El Paraiso on Thursday April 18th, 2019 at 11:00 am following with a Graveside Service at West Hill Memorial Park, 11800 Douglas Road, Yakima, WA.
