

Freeport – Inez Mabel Davis, 101, loving sister of Mildred Lothrop, also of Freeport, died June 27, 2012. She was born on January 6, 1911, in Auburn, a daughter of Susan Mae (Abbot) and Edward Lewis Lothrop. She graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1929. Inez worked as a clerk in several stores in Auburn and Lewiston before she started doing office work in an insurance company. She married William Shirley Davis of Freeport in June 1932 and they had two sons; Bill who was born in 1933 and Gary who was born in 1944. They moved permanently to Freeport in 1935. While in Freeport she worked for Eastland Shoe as a shoemaker.
Inez liked taking care of her family, their home and enjoyed keeping her yard neat and tidy. She was always ready to help if she knew someone was in need. She will be very much missed by her family and friends, especially by her sister Mildred.
Inez is survived by her 98 year old sister, Mildred, of Freeport and her nephew Linwood Lothrop of Choctaw, Oklahoma. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her three brothers: Edward, Gus and Albert; as well as her two sons Bill and Gary.
There will be a time of visitation and celebration of her life on Monday July 2, 2012 from 1 – 3 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth with tributes beginning at 2:30 PM.
