Eliot, ME- Nancy R. Jones, 84, of Clark Road, passed away on May 4, 2018 at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1933 in Portland, a daughter of Elwood W. and Winnifred (Marston) Ridlon. Nancy lived in South Portland and Yarmouth as a child. She graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in 1951 where she was valedictorian of her class, and New England Deaconess School of Nursing in 1954.
On October 15, 1955, she married a former high school classmate, Everett Lee Jones. She and Everett lived in Bowdoinham and later moved to Eliot.
Nancy was a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed gardening, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, lighthouses and being near the ocean.
She was pre-deceased by her husband July 28, 2017.
She is survived by daughters, Katherine J. Bachelder and her husband Peter of Ellsworth, ME; Cheryl J. Watson and her husband John of Eliot, ME; grandchildren, Jeff A. Main and his wife Nicole of Eliot, Heather A. White and her wife Trista of South Berwick, ME, Chelsea K. Watson of South Berwick, ME; Great-grandchildren, Shelby Watson Dupuis of South Berwick, ME; brother, Charles (Chuck) Ridlon and his wife Sally of Durham, ME; brother in-law, Melvin (Wimpy) Jones and his wife Patti of Yarmouth, ME; sister in-law, Joanne Jones of Scarborough, ME. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grand dogs Lakota and Brady.
A visiting hour will be held from 10-11 am on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth.
