Jim was the youngest son born to Margaret and Thomas on July 31, 1943. He was
predeceased by his older brothers, Thomas and Robert.
He grew up in Riverdale, attended St Margaret’s grammar school and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School. He received his college degree from New York University upon his return from serving our country in Vietnam. Jim spent his career in Advertising at various agencies in Manhattan.
The most important thing in Jim’s life was his family. He married the love of his life, Eileen, in 1969 and they settled in Yonkers. In 1974, their beloved daughter Denise was born. Jim was devoted to them both.
Jim was an avid Yankees fan, much to the dismay of Met fans in his family. When home computers became popular, he jumped on board and enjoyed using new electronic gadgets. He was also an avid reader.
James will be greatly missed by Eileen and Denise, his nieces Kathy and Carolyn, nephew Tom and their spouses, and his grand-nephews Michael, Harry, Sam and Jack.
Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Friday September 8th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
