Born April 1, 1926, in St. Charles, Illinois, he was the son of the late Arthur D. and Opal Emily McConnaughay.
Arthur attended college for three years before serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He later retired from Prudential as an insurance supervisor in sales. He spent much of his time following retirement sharing the gospel and working to find donations for the poor. In Arthur’s own words, the most important belief that guided his life was his personal relationship with Christ since the age of 4 or 5.
Arthur is survived by his grandchildren, Mark Loomis and Angela O’Hair, and his great grandchildren, Sarah and Elijah Loomis and Chloe and Kieran O’Hair.
In addition to Arthur’s first wife, Beulah, he has now been reunited with his second wife, Kay of Oklahoma, his son, Michael, and his two daughters, Nancy and Beth.
Arthur was extremely proud of his service in the Navy and he lived a selfless, generous life both with his time and finances. He was a wonderful grandfather and will be remembered very fondly and greatly missed.
Arthur will be laid to rest at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with Beulah at a later date. Please check back for service date and time.
