She gave me my first “real” job. My friend Travis and I picked various seeds from the surrounding desert for her to sell to the highway dept. We spent our days cruising her 3 wheeled golf cart around the desert filling our burlap bags with whatever seeds were in season. She had an infectious laugh and taught me what it was to give unconditional trust, practice unconventional ingenuity, and how to love people for there unique qualities. She made a huge impression on me as a young man and that impression has been a big part of the bedrock of the best parts of me. I am thankful to have had her in it at the time she was.

The first time I met Judy I was in kindergarten, she was my speech therapist, because I couldn't say motorcycle or refrigerator. I was terrified of her at first, but I have her to thank for my proper pronunciations. A couple years later, my family ended up renting from her and living on her property. Little did I know she would make such an impact on my life. I would do work for her such as picking cactus and other odd jobs. She was more than a speech therapist/landlord/employer she was more like family to me. My condolences to her family and anyone else that was lucky enough to know Judy.
