On Monday, November 2, 2020 Patty, ‘G.G.’ Bohmfalk passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held at the Weaver-Hughes Mortuary 33629 Yucaipa, CA 92399. Due to COVID-19, all those attending will be required to wear a mask. Funeral and interment services will be private.

Patty is survived by her husband of 47 years John Bohmfalk. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Cheryl Hafer Genera. She leaves behind, two daughters Valerie Maskey and Dayna Mitchell, two stepdaughters and their husbands, Ann and Kelvin Smith, Anita and David Torres, stepson David and wife Ana Bohmfalk, stepson Dan Bohmfalk, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Patty was born in Scottsburg, Indiana on October 20, 1935. She attended elementary school there until her family relocated to Loma Linda, California. She graduated from Redlands High School and later earned her Associate of Arts degree from San Bernardino Valley College. Patty worked in the public school system for the Food Services Department for 31 years. She spent her first ten years with the Rialto School District before going to work at Grand Terrace Middle. There she was the Food Service Manager. She was well respected and lovingly known as ‘Mrs. B’. She married John Bohmfalk in 1974 and this is when she began her 47-year relationship with the Auxiliary Unit of the Robert Allen Romo American Legion Post 422 of Rialto. She held the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, Legislation Committee Chairman, Poppy Chairperson and Historian. She received multiple awards for her Poppy displays at conventions. At the district level, Patty served as Poppy Chairman, Treasurer, and a member of the Ways and Means Committee. Patty was well known statewide for her faithful commitment and was loved by those she worked alongside as well as those she served. Additionally, Patty was a 32-year partner of 8/40 Salon 58 of San Bernardino where she held many positions including La Chapeaux and Aumonier. John and Patty enjoyed many special times of traveling together through their involvement with the American Legion. Patty will be deeply missed and well-remembered for her kindness to others, her service, her beautiful corsages and poppies and her love of family and friends. She truly loved being a grandma and ‘G.G.’ She will remain treasured in our hearts and our memories.
