Born October 3,1949, passed peacefully from this earth to heaven on Tuesday morning, February 18th. Bill’s legacy of love and friendship is carried on by his wife of 49 years, Alice, their two children and their
spouses, Annette and Eddie of Beaumont, and Bob and Courtney Roberts of Calimesa. Bill was also blessed with 7 grandchildren.
Rylee, Iann, Blaize, Julia, Corey, Drake and Ruby.
Two brothers, Ron and Kathy Roberts of Arroyo Grande and Larry and Jaci Roberts of Yucaipa, and his sister, Barbara “Heather” Crist of Aguanga.
Bill was born in San Bernardino where he spent much of his early years. During his teens he
lived in El Centro where he met and married the love of his life. Together they spent over 40
years in Yucaipa where he coached soccer and gained many extra kids. He was Dad #2 to so
many of Annette and Bob’s friends. Bill spent 30 years as a painting contractor, well known in
his field for his professional, diligent and hard working ethic. He painted many of the homes in
Redlands, Yucaipa and San Bernardino areas. After retirement, on any given day you would
find Bill relaxing in his garage with his dogs ready to shoot the breeze with the many friends,
family, and extended family that might stop by. He also enjoyed video gaming while taking a
break from working around the house or gardening. On Friday nights he and his best friends
could be heard a block over as they “jammed” in the garage. These lifelong friendships were
cultivated early in his life and have endured between their children. Bill always accepted people
for who they were, and where they were at in their life, and had a way of making everyone feel
welcomed and important. To try to end the list of people carrying on his legacy would be a
shortfall; for anyone who met Bill loved him and they will all keep his memory going. Bill
Roberts, you were a giant among men. The many many people whose lives you touched are
forever changed from having known you.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25th, 2020 at 10:00am at CenterPoint Church, 170 W F Street, Colton, CA 92324.
