Jennie Quiroz Leyva, 94, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Life Care Center of Yuma, AZ. She was born June 24, 1924 in Los Angeles, CA to Arnold Quiroz and Margaret Alcala.

Jennie was a devout Catholic and enrolled Yaqui Tribal member. She loved to crochet and cook. She was a retired cook and waitress.

Jennie was a widow and is survived by her 7 children, Frank Hernandez (Lupe), Hope Hernandez Trujillo, Maria Elena White, John Diego Leyva, Richard Leyva (Yolanda), Jennie Leyva Franks (Ray), and Lydia Harrison, 22 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 62 great-great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include, William Mendoza, Rosebud Quiroz, and Debbie Quiroz.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Guadalupe Concepcion Hernandez and her brother Guadalupe Miranda Talamontes.

Viewing will be held at Johnson Mortuary Chapel on Friday, September 14th, 2018 from 5-9pm with Rosary at 7pm. Scripture Service will be at 9am Saturday morning at Johnson Mortuary followed by burial at Desert Lawn Cemetery at 10am. Reception will follow at 1pm at the DAV at 954 S. 13 Ave, Yuma, AZ.

Pallbearers will be Roy Arvizu, Bill Akins, Sinjin Meyer, Robert Trujillo, Martin Trujillo, Eddie Gus Trujillo, Frank Leyva, and Anthony Leyva. Honorary pallbearers include Annette Leyva and Gabriel Leyva.
