Saliba Nakhleh Hanhan was born on September 27, 1926 in the city of Yaffa, Palestine. He immigrated to Jordan in 1948, two years later he married Roze Lababdi. In 1981 he, his wife, and his sons moved to the United States, where they made California their permanent home.
Saliba enjoyed utilizing his professional skills to create beautiful pieces through his field of work---carpentry. He greatly enjoyed spending time laughing, talking, arguing and loving family and friends, as he held all of them very dear to his heart. Getting together with friends and family, drinking Arak and eating Maza (Cucumbers, Hummus, Labanih, and Basterma) were his most treasured times. He was an active man for much of his life, and enjoyed taking long walks around his neighborhood.
Although he lived in the Los Angeles area for most of his life in California, he often traveled to Barstow to spend time with his family. Saliba died on March 1, 2007 from lung-related and other health conditions.
He is survived by his wife, Roze Hanhan; children, Diana and her husband Khalil Khoury , Wisam and her husband Hanna Zakaria, Isam Hanhan and his wife Dora, Nakhleh Hanhan and his wife Sousse, Husam Hanhan and his wife Shirley; also he was survived by his brother Khalil Hanhan and his family. Grandchildren Ghadeer and her husband Elias Horani, Areen and her husband Yousef Siriani, Afif, Ala'a, and Fida'a Khouri, Ghassan and Luma Zakaria, Nadine, Christopher, and Souher Hanhan; great-grandchildren Raneen and Leen Horani, and Bisharah and Sarah Siriani.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:30 am at St. Paisio Orthodox Church, 8621 S. Frontage Road in Yuma, Arizona. Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, Arizona.
