Mildred "Millie" A. (Poole) Salmon, 86, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family, friends, and her fur babies. She was born and raised in Big Lake. Millie was a spirited loving woman, full of life.
She has five living children; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She also has one living sister, Wilda Gintz of Moss Bluff; and has lots of nieces and nephews.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and George Poole of Big Lake; Cecil Cole, her lifelong partner of Moss Bluff; her brother, Kenneth Poole of Moss Bluff; two sons, Ricky J. Trahan and Allen Wayne Trahan of Lake Charles; a grandson, Donald Dean Trahan Jr. of Lake Charles; along with one great grandson, Danny Lee Breaux of Denham Springs.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 11:00am, with Bro. Jimmy Cooley officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 8:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Grandlake Sweetlake Cemetery.
