Hello, 
I had the honor to work with Larry at Sanofi on the hospital team for maybe a couple of years. The only time we ever met or saw each other was at company meetings. We had a really good  diverse group of people that meshed naturally , but especially with Larry . Everyone loved him. He honestly made everyone feel like a friend . I would say I feel like I lost a friend , but thats not accurate . I have lost a friend . That is how real and sincere he was. He and I made each other laugh to tears at meetings and team dinners with our sideways looks at each other and grins at some of the company propaganda.. As you are aware he was a very special man . It takes a special person to be embraced by all types of people , but that is what Larry did and that is who he was .
I hope these words give the family some solace and help you smile when you think about him. Because that is what he did for us . He made us smile  , laugh and love .God  bless him  and your family.

My heart goes out to your entire family today and in the coming weeks. Larry was a friend, mentor, great listener and true gentleman.  We worked together on what he coined the "Dream Team" and had many great laughs over the years. He spoke often of his family, faith, love of music and, of course, the Gators. Larry and his infectious smile will be missed but never forgotten.


The only thing Larry ever failed at was trying to teach me how to play the bass guitar, but he tried! I will miss my friend after our workouts at the gym but I know he is with the lord. Love to his family that he dearly loved!

Had the pleasure of working with Larry. One of the best teammates you could ever ask for. One thing we would always end up doing at team meeting was over feed ourselves (The steak in KC was the best) then sit up late into the evening listening to, talking about, playing, and enjoying music.  He would always have something new to share with me and I’d always try to have something new for him.  

I loved Larry like a brother.  He will be misse.  My thoughts and prayers are with Leslie and the family.

I am so sorry. Larry was such a joyful presence. Chandler, I am grateful that your friendship with Nick growing up allowed me to get to know your dad. And Leslie, I hurt for you. I am glad I got to see you at Vineville UMC when The Grapevine played. I had been praying for y'all when I first heard about Larry's illness, and I will continue to hold you both in prayer as you grieve.

My sincere condolences for all of the Lee family. I knew Larry from having the pleasure of listening to the Grapevine Band over the years. At one time, he also had insurance through the office where I work and he would come into the office with a smile on his face and great conversations. He was a larger than life man who never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Larry and Leslie both were wonderful friends to my husband Thomas Carroll who died from cancer in July of 2019.  I will never forget their kindness and support that was given to us during our struggles. Leslie if you ever need to talk I am here for you. Please call me. I didn't know Larry had past until I was told by a friend today who didn't even realize that I knew the both of you. God bless you and your family. I know you miss him more than words can describe. Larry was a good friend in high school. Everyone loved Larry and he made all of us feel part of the group. He was always friendly to everyone he met and he truly will be missed. May God hold the Lee family close during this difficult time and comfort them.

To know Larry was to love him.  I never saw him that he didn’t make me feel like I was his best friend as he did everyone.  I originally met Larry When he was my sons c ball coach  and baseball coach for a couple of years.  Several boys (including Chandler)in my sons grade had their 16th birthday  around the same time and Larry and the Grapvine played! Because Larry wanted to.    I don’t think those 16 year olds knew just how special that was but they do now.  Larry was one of those larger than life people that will be very missed.  It’s still so hard to believe he is gone. The world is a sadder place but I know Heaven is rocking out! RIP Larry Lee! 

Larry was a genuine friend who never met a stranger. What a blessing to have known him as he coached little league with my husband for their son’s team (Giants). We heard him perform many times with The Grapevine. When our daughter married, no other but The Grapevine were to play... and it was epic. Our prayers out to all his family and the Grapevine brothers. We are all better for having known Larry and he will truly be missed!

I am so sorry for your loss.  Larry coached my daughter, Hannah Billingsley  (‘08) at FPD.  Larry was kind and supportive.  He loved Hannah and was a true fan of the game.  He touched our lives through his love of softball.   Our prayers are with you.

Larry and I worked together at Mercer University in Financial Aid. He was like a brother to me and we share so many fun memories. Please know that I am praying for all of you that God’s peace  and strength will cover you during these difficult days! Life with Larry was never boring and how thankful I am that we were friends! Dear Leslie and family,

We are so sorry for your loss.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Larry and I are first cousins.  His father, Bud and my father, Fred were brothers.  I have wonderful memories of us growing up and visiting when we were younger.   We always had a good time catching up at the Lee family reunions.  Larry was always smiling and having a great time. Larry Lee was a long-time friend. I remember good times at the Bambi Motel when we were in grammar school. Larry had great strength, he was a good kid and a good man. This is unexpected and very sad. 

We pray for Leslie and all of Larry’s sweet family.  He was always upbeat , always believed things would be good, and he loved to help people find joy!  We will miss Larry beyond words- his impact has been immeasurable.  Having known Larry means to have experienced many blessings.  Rest In Peace Larry!

I went to college with Larry at Valdosta State. He was my Head resident at Reade Hall. When we weren't competing in intramural basketball or softball,watch football in the dorm, or lunch at the cafeteria, I would stop by his room to listen to music or listen to him play the bass. Your father was a great guy, who always had time to listen to those who stayed at his dorm.When I had a problem,Larry always had great advice.My prayers go out to Larry’s wife,children,grandchildren and family. 

I was honored to be a member of the class of 1975 and to have Larry as our President. He was a friend to everyone. My fondest memory of him is that he was a true gentleman. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Larry was a drug rep at the office I worked at. He was ALWAYS so kind and genuine. I don’t recall a time that I saw him that he didn’t ask me about my Daddy. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and was happy. He will be truly missed! Continued prayers of comfort for the family.

So sorry for your loss, I have known Larry for some time now. Always enjoyed talking with him and seeing him at the touchdown club. He was always upbeat and I know he would want us to remember this great trait he had. The world needs more people like Larry!

I was so saddened to hear of Larry’s passing! I worked in the Lab at Armstrong when I first met Larry, he was a Chemical salesman for a Polymer Company and Larry and I worked together on many research projects! Larry was a person who was easy to work and talk with as we were both Guitarist! He will be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends! RIP Larry, you will always be remembered as a fine and thoughtful individual who was taken away too soon!

Larry was a great friend to us, a wonderful grandfather to our grandchildren and father to our daughter and son in law. We loved and appreciated him and will miss him very much.

Through our FPD family of teachers and families, we have known and loved Larry.  We had fun with the Grapevine playing at our son’s wedding. We last talked to Larry at a preschooler soccer game in the fall.   He loved being a grandparent as we did. His friendly smile and laughter will be missed by all.

Larry and I go way back to the 1980s when we worked at Mercer and played softball together on the “Swim Team.” He was an outstanding athlete, a phenomenally accomplished singer/musician/entertainer, a dedicated Christian man, and the best friend anyone could ever have. He was so much fun to be around. 

Larry loved his son Chandler, his wife Leslie, and and all of their family. I will miss my friend, but the great memories of our time together will last a lifetime. May he rest in eternal peace.

We will truly miss seeing Larry's  beautiful  smile every morning in the Idle Hour  gym.   His energy was contagious!!!  Praying  for peace that passes all understanding!!!  We love you Leslie!!!!

Coach Larry was such a huge part of the family at FPD. The middle school girls were lucky to have him all these years. Addison will always remember him when someone calls her “Double A”. He gave her that nickname and it has stuck with her on all of her teams. The softball program at FPD will never be the same without him! We are praying for the family! The Lord gained an amazing angel with Larry!

I first met Larry at Valdosta State College in 1980. He greeted me with a huge smile and handshake and welcomed me to the college.
He was an incredible connector through his genuine care and concern for people and his uncanny ability to make you feel like you were the most important person on the planet. My most vivd VSC memory is Larry, sunglasses on, playing Bass guitar and singing with his band at Betty's Big Bash in 1982. He was amazing and the joy he got from playing and singing music was clearly seen by everyone. 

In 2014, I was visiting Perry, Georgia and the State Fair was at the Agricultural Center. While walking around the Fair, I heard a band playing and when the voice came over the speakers, I turned to my friend and told him, "I know that voice, that's Larry Lee." I immediately walked toward the music, made my way to the foot of the stage, and saw Larry on the stage. Larry saw me and gave me the biggest smile as we pointed at each other. An incredible moment. After the show, Larry came from backstage and as I came toward him, he picked me up in the biggest bear hug. I felt like the most important person on the planet.

Leslie and Family -- You are in my prayers and on my heart. I know Larry (Pops) will be missed by each of you and the void in our lives by his loss is real. The great news is that we know Larry's eternal destiny and that he, this very moment, is connecting with our Lord and Savior in Heaven. You will see him again -- guaranteed! 

I hope that when I see Larry in Heaven, he will pick me up and hug me with that same bear hug he gave me at the fair. I'm certain I will feel like the most important person in Heaven at that second.

Larry was a valued associate, dedicated employee, and a good friend. We worked for Buckman together for years. 
He was always willing to give his all in everything he did. I really enjoyed our time working together and his "can do" attitude.
Later my greater memories are of his musical talents and the same untiring dedication he applied to all.
