My family lived across the street from his.  We spent endless hours playing together as kids and then shared a scouting life. for a long stretch he was my best friend in our early childhood.  His family was kind and generous to me and I will always be grateful to have known him.  May your memories of you time together be a comfort in the times to come.  Rest in peace Darrell

Oh Darrel, I miss you so much.  I don’t know what to do without you.  I really lucked out when I found you.  Together for 40 years, my entire adult life.  You were so smart, very kind, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  Dedicated to helping the youths in our community through Boy Scouts and the youth shooting program at Boyertown Rod & Gun Club.  We are all going to be lost without you.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Darrell.   I worked with him when he was Cubmaster of Pack 511 in Bechtelsville.   He was always a pleasure to work with.  I know you have wonderful memories to comfort you.

My husband and I were honored to meet Darrel a few years ago when our kids joined the BB Gun team at Boyertown Rod & Gun Club. He was a genuine man who loved sharing his passions with the kids. He was immensely patient with the kids and a wonderful teacher! My husband enjoyed swapping stories of computer projects, clients, and technology with Darrel. We all enjoyed our adventures with the BB Gun team. Last Fall, we were devastated to learn of his illness and offered to help step with the team while he was focusing on healing. Darrel has been a wonderful mentor and he will be greatly missed. He has left some big shoes to fill and we will do our best to honor his memory during our BB Gun matches. 

Darrel was my first shooting coach at the age of 10.   I fell in love with the sport and continued on to precision air rifle and smallbore rifle in college after aging out of the BB Gun program.  If it wasn't for Darrel asking me to shoot at the Boyertown Fun Days fundraiser years ago, I would never be where I am today.   So sorry for the loss of your loved one.

I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. Darrel  was a friend who was in my homeroom for many years; he was always so very pleasant and kind to everyone. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Angie and Family:

Our words  cannot  take away your  pain, but we just wanted to reach out to let you know that you are in our prayers for our gracious God to comfort you and  be merciful to you.  I talk on the phone fairly regularly with your dad, and he told me about a  month ago how Darrel's illness was taking him down.  In our minds, he was far to young.  But God's Word tells  us, all our days were numbered before before He formed us  in our mother's womb.  I hope you  can take comfort that his illness no longer has reign over him.  He has found his peace.

Our thoughts and prayers  are with you and your family. We have known Darrel along time though shooting. He was very devoted to the shooting program and the kids involved with it.  We spend many hours together at states and he was always there to help in any way he could. We laughed a lot and even complained about a few things during the matches. We had a great time when we went to Nationals together. He will be greatly missed. May the memories be with you always.

Darrel was a very dedicated coach that spent alot of time teaching gun safety to his team.  He was always easy to get along with and never had a negative tone about anyone.  He was a very good natured person.  The BB Gun Family of Coaches will miss this important member of their group.
