Ayala, or Gizela as she was known to her closest family members, was born on September 24,
1951 to Yosef and Fruma Strulson in Haifa, Israel. She served in the Israeli Defense Forces and
the Israeli Police. She married her loving husband, Moshe, in 1974, and had three sons, Chaim,
Ety and Ehud “Didi” before immigrating to the United States in 1980.
Ayala found her passion in teaching Hebrew and Judaic Studies to elementary students
throughout Westchester County for over 35 years. She was a dog lover who enjoyed traveling
throughout the world with her husband. But, above all, she beamed with pride for her children
and grandchildren.
Ayala is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Moshe; her brother
Avraham Strulson (Yetti); her sons Chaim (Jodi), Ety (Michelle), Ehud “Didi” (Amissa); her
grandchildren Noah, Lily, Audrey, Gillian and Allison; her niece Batya Strulson and nephew Ariel
Strulson (Katie) and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in her honor to Congregation B’nai Israel, P.O. Box 345, Emerson, NJ 07630 (bisrael.com) or to Congregation KTI, 575 King Street, Port Chester, NY 10573 (congkti.org)
May her soul be bound up in the bond of everlasting life.
