Randy is survived by his brother Tony (Lynda) Bernamonti of Madison MS, his daughter Brooke (Brian) Grainger of Birmingham AL, his daughter Jessica Bernamonti of Madison MS, his three grandchildren Samuel, Luke and Anna Grainger of Birmingham AL and many, many friends.
Randy was born in Jackson, MS on September 12th 1954 to Wilma and John Bernamonti. He graduated from Central High School. He then went on to continue his education at Belhaven University (bachelors), Mississippi College (masters) and Delta State University (specialist). Randy was employed by Jackson Public Schools for over 25 years. His tenure with JPS included teaching math at multiple different middle schools, Assistant Principal at Chastain Middle School from 1997-1999, Principal at Peeples Middle School from 1999-2003 and Assistant Superintendent for JPS middle schools from 2004-2012. After retiring from Jackson Public School district, he was an education consultant for The Kirkland Group from 2012-2020.
Randy was a devoted brother and father. “His girls” and grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to any pond and lake; a hobby he enjoyed with his brother, son-in-law and grandsons. Randy also loved to duck hunt with countless hunting stories with friends over the years. Randy also helped mold many minds with his years in education, a profession in which he enjoyed immensely. He will be deeply missed every day by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th at 1:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson MS. A service will follow at 2:30 pm.
