Born July 8, 1952 in Pekin to Gaylen “Gale” and Marcella (Atkinson) Black, she married Paul W. Folsom Jr in 1967 in Pekin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Dolores Folsom; one sister, Anna Rudd and one son-in-law, B.J. Perino.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gail (Jesse Peterman) Perino and Alice (Ronnie) Koonce; five grandchildren, Christina Koonce, Monica Koonce, Scott Koonce, Tyler Perino, Lora Perino; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kim Black and Edward (Norma) Black, both of Pekin.
Sharon enjoyed gaming, camping, fishing and dancing. Most of all she loved spending time with her, daughters and grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John E. Plunkett will officiate. Her visitation will be held an hour prior to the funeral service. Graveside services will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin,.
