I very fondly, remember Mrs. Schulman. I taught first grade at Navy Elementary School in Fairfax county and for many many years we brought our first graders to tour of the National Gallery of Art. I remember dancing in front of Degas ’ ballerina with Mrs. Schulman and 25 first graders sometime before 2000 when I retired. I remember counting the lions and getting excited over Watson’s shark.  I have never forgotten her patience with 25 wiggly giggly first graders and how she humorously explained why so many statues were naked!  Her legacy includes introducing several hundred children to beautiful artwork.  Many of the parents of my first graders have reported that their children have asked to return to the Art Gallery because they didn’t get to see everything.  We thank Mrs Schulman.

I live in New Jersey and have not seen Judy in years.  I kept track of her with her brother, Barry, time to time.  So sorry for her loss to her family.  She will be missed by her whole family.


Carol Segal, Cousin
I live in Los Angeles and am a first cousin to Judy,  Each tine I visited St. Louis, we both always made it important to get together as I felt close to the family before I moved away.   It has been a long time since I have been to St. Louis, but I am very close to Barry, who lives  in California. and I keep up with the St. Louis cousins through him.  Judy and I always remembered each other on our birthdays which were both in Sept.  I will miss her even though we have lived far apart for many years.    My thoughts go out to her immediate family.

Judy’s personality was bubbly and vivacious; she was always energetic, highly-spirited, and outgoing her entire life even when she experienced a most grueling ordeal. Also, she was a do-gooder who put others’ needs before hers.  For example, she fulfilled her promise to Brother Barry in California sending him three dog coupons; they were short-dated and knew his dogs loved those treats. Judy executed “johnnie on the spot;” Barry received those coupons the following Tuesday. She love to  deliver to others.
Plus, Judy was a true humanitarian. She’d end our telephone conversations with “take-care,” “be good to yourself,” “don’t forget to apply your sunscreen.” Amazing that she was so unselfish, kind-hearted and generous she was even though she should’ve been attentive to her own needs.
Most importantly, Judy embraced ALL her co-workers; she accepted and loved them all notwithstanding their race, religion, or ethnicity. That’s why she was selected as Group Coordinator/Supervisor of her staff members. 
Finally, Judy left us all a useful legacy on how to act and treat others. Without realizing it, she was an amazing mentor to “look on the sunny/bright side of life;” given her prognosis, Judy demonstrated strength, mental toughness, faith, optimism, and hope throughout the numerous “speed bumps” she encountered. No wonder the nursing staff admired their “model patient.”  My big sis, Judy, taught me a most valuable lesson in behavior not mentioned in any textbook. Likewise, Judy showed us all how to accept, bear life’s bumpy road.

Judy was my older sister. She had a great personality and was always easy and fun to converse with. You could not meet a friendlier person in the world  than her. The world needs many more like her. She will be missed for sure by anyone who knew her. R.I.P. sister.

I have only known Judy for a short time but it was long enough to discover how nice and fun a person she was. Her enthusiasm was contagious and she always had nice things to say about everyone. She will be missed.

I have known Judy since 1980 when she started playing racquetball in the Spaulding Racquetball league that I  was in charge of.  She was  always a pleasure and fun loving player in our group. Judy brought so much love to our many family gatherings and was such a joy to be around. She had a heart of solid gold, and a perpetually positive spirit -- and always asking "how can I help? What can I do?".  One year, during our Thanksgiving gathering, we somehow ran out of dish soap and couldn't wash the dishes! And the next year, Judy showed up with her famous crab dip, and a big bottle of Dawn, just in case! She will be so missed.

So very sorry to read that Judy passed away.  Judy and I played racketball together for many years.  She was always with a smile.  I would see her around giving out samples.  I saw her in September of 2019 at Barry’s class reunion - we talked about our racquetball days.  

I met Judy in 2012 when we worked together for Event Marketing performing demo's in Schnucks stores.  Soon we were meeting for dinners with the husbands on Saturdays after working all day.  Judy always had a good outlook on things and was very kind to me and I will miss her.  My sympathies to Barry and the entire family.

She made me laugh! Always had a smile on her face!

Joe and I met  Barry and Judy at St Louis airport when we were on our way to Alaska in 1998.  We were all hockey fans and the Wings were playing for the Stanley Cup!!  We spent many hours together during the cruise and stayed friends all these years.  My deepest sympathy to Barry and the family.  Rest in Paradise Judy

We always had so much fun with Judy and Barry at the movie screenings.  Also the cruise we all took together.
