Our precious courageous wife, daughter, sister, and dear friend, Judi (CJ Collins ) has left us swiftly for a world of peace and no more pain.
Judi, known as “CJ” to her friends and the patients at Collins Chiropractic on 4th Street in Old Town Clovis, passed away on April 29, 2021.
Judi was born at the Sierra Hospital in Fresno assisted by Dr. Wilbur Lose. She was raised on the Preuss Peach Ranch on Minnewawa and Shepherd, in Clovis by her parents Charles E. and Judith E. Preuss.
She attended Dry Creek Elementary where she was very active in 4-H specializing in “Equine Studies” and “Gardening”. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1982, top 20; from Lake Erie College, Suma Cum Laude, 1986; and from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 1990. In High School and College, she competed in Equine Three Day Eventing Competitions.
While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic West, she met her husband, Victor Collins, DC. They set up their practice in Santa Cruz for seven years and then moved to Old Town Clovis, where they have been for 16 years.
She was known to her patients as a great listener.
CJ loved animals, reading and taking daily walks through their neighborhood.
There was no part of the writing world that CJ did not love and participate in, including writing, editing and publishing. In the last few years; she become an excellent editor and assisted more than a few writer-friends to get their books published.
Judi is survived by her husband Victor, her mother Judith, her sister Tammy Preuss and her husband Mark Daniel, and nephew Tyler Daniel, Woodinville, Washington; Kristie Preuss-Woods and her husband Gary, Sanger CA; sister-in-law Kimberly Collins, Camarillo, CA, sister-in-law Jylana Collins, Boise, Idaho, cousins Larry and Pat Grossi, Clovis, CA., uncle Paul Manera, Phoenix, Arizona, and aunt and uncle, Rita and Carl Burson, Colfax, CA.

The Memorial Service for our beloved “CJ” will be held at the Academy Church outdoor Pavilion on 10667 North Madsen Avenue, Clovis, CA 93619 on Saturday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m..
