Mr. Ensley was born February 22, 1940 in Haywood County to the late Frank Allen Ensley and Isadore Holden Ensley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Ensley, sisters, Katherine Moody and Margaret Andrews.
Mr. Ensley was a painter by trade and he attended Laytown Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Glenn Ensley and wife Dare of Lenoir, William Ensley and wife Lesley of Salisbury, Ronald Ensley and wife Virginia of Lenoir, Robert Ensley of Duffield, VA, sisters, Hester McLean of Hudson and Betty Silver and husband Danny of Elk Park.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 am at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Murphy officiating. Burial will follow the service at Tanglewood Cemetery in Linville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Logan and Noah Barrett, Hunter Nichols, Matthew Andrews, Bryan Harmon and Isaiah McLean.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street Lenoir, NC 28645.
