He served in the Navy and was stationed on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay where he met his future wife, Patricia Neadeau, and they were married in his hometown of Versailles, Illinois. After the Navy, Frosty received his B.A. at San Francisco State University and then began teaching. Duty called during the Korean War and he returned to the service, but this time joining the Army. Frosty moved from base to base, state to state and from country to country with his growing family in tow, which included his son, Stephen Douglas Frost and his daughter, Dona Cathleen Frost (Mokin).
Finally, Frosty and Pat decided it was time to settle in California. Frosty, now Mr. Frost, started his next career as a math teacher at Del Paso Middle School in Sacramento, California. He retired early from teaching to enjoy life and travel with Pat. And they did the things they loved together; which was dancing. Ballroom, Line, Latin, Square; and any kind of dancing as a couple was fun for them. They met at a dance and they continued this love affair with dance and each other throughout their lives.
Frosty had a great sense of humor but was surprisingly shy and a quiet person. He was influenced by Pat in many of their pasttimes, one which was to become well-read.
Sadly, Frosty lost his wife, Pat, too soon and that loss haunted him for the rest of his life. He would say that part of him was missing.
Now Frosty can be with Pat once again, dancing in the clouds.
